Grand Canyon Rafting Adventure

Departing from both Phoenix and Sedona – (Surrounding Areas)

DEPARTURE:

Wow!  We LOVE being a 100% private tour company.   This flexibility allows us to get creative.

At 7AM from Phoenix, and 8AM from Sedona we head out.  Your half-day rafting adventure starts @ 1PM from the base of Glen Canyon dam, and we’ll need to be there about 45 minutes early.  Factoring in stops, to Page (where the rafting tour starts) it’s about 4.5hrs from the Phoenix area; 3hrs from Sedona.

Along the way your Guide will point out the interesting, ever changing landscape; giving you some special insight into the history of Northern Arizona.

RAFTING ADVENTURE:

We’ve teamed with Wilderness River Adventures to provide this once-in-a-lifetime experience.  There are a few things to keep in mind;

    • Reservations – If your day is fully booked, you’ll need to have an alternate day in mind.  We do not charge your credit card until we’ve verified your day is available.
    • Booking – During the checkout process, you’ll have the opportunity to add your rafting tour.  PLEASE book an accurate number attending the rafting tour.  If you need to add/remove passengers later you’ll be charged/credited.  Also, often adding last minute Guests is not possible.  Space is limited and typically rafting tours are fully booked weeks in advance.
    • Cancellations – Wilderness River Adventures will provide a full refund minus a $10 per person processing fee for cancellations that meet the following criteria. Cancellations must be made 48 hours before the trip’s scheduled departure. Cancellations made within the 48-hour cancellation window and no-shows are subject to a 100% cancellation fee.

RETURN:  Here’s a HUGE UPSIDE.  The rafting tour ends @ Lees Ferry @ 4:30pm.  Your Guide will meet you there, saving you the return, 1.5hrs trip back to Page.  At about 6pm you’ll have a chance to grab a deli sandwich in the Navajo town of Cameron.   Continuing your journey home, you’ll arrive back in Sedona @ 7:30pm (9:30pm Phoenix)

It’s a busy, but amazing day.

WHAT TO BRING:  It can reach over 100 degrees in the summer, so we suggest you bring the following items;

    • Large brimmed hat to shade your face and shoulders.
    • Sunglasses.
    • Suntan lotion.
    • Special drinks.
    • Snacks.
    • Adult beverages (for the trip home).

WEATHER:  Be prepared to go rafting and spending the day outside. Conditions on the river change throughout the year, so we ask you to dress for the season (up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit in summer; down to 45 degrees Fahrenheit in the spring and fall). In general, WEAR LAYERS. Spring and fall months, we can experience cooler temperatures and windy days, jackets and long pants are appropriate. During the summer months, shorts and light weight clothing are acceptable attire. Brimmed hat, sunglasses, and shoes that can get wet and sandy, are musts for the adventure!

HOW COLD IS THE WATER?  The water from Glen Canyon Dam is released at a constant 47 degrees Fahrenheit (8 Celsius). Rule of thumb….it warms one degree every 20 miles it travels downstream.  So even in the hottest months, a refreshing “Splash” is only inches away.

We will have plenty of water, and of course you’ll have opportunities to purchase additional drinks and snacks throughout the day.  While on the raft, Wilderness River Adventures will have drinks available.

RAFT TOUR COST:  $110+fees for those 16 years old of more.  $100+fees for children 4-15 years.  Children under 4 years old not allowed on tour.

    • You’ll purchase your raft tour tickets when booking your tour below.
