Verde Valley Railroad - Sedona Deluxe Tour

OVERVIEW – The train departs the station in Clarkdale, AZ (20 minutes South of Sedona, AZ) at 1PM sharp during the week, and 12PM on most weekends. The train ride is about 4hrs roundtrip, allowing us to get back to the Valley around 7PM (5PM departure).
BEFORE YOUR TRAIN RIDE: Todd will work with you to create the perfect day. Activities range from visiting ancient Native American ruins, wine tasting, horseback riding, shopping in Sedona, AZ and exploring historic Jerome, AZ.

IS IT FOR YOU?
We have yet to have a Guest not LOVE adding the Verde Valley Railroad to their Sedona Tour. Combine the incredible views from the train, with the scenic stops with your Guide, it makes for an amazing day!
Because the train takes up the second half of the day, you will be limited on what you can see in the Sedona area. But keep in mind, our tours are 100% private, which means you’ll still see a TON of great sites before boarding the train.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED?
- Lunch: Since there are MANY places to choose from the in the Verde Valley area, we do not include lunch in our fare.
- Monument Entry Fees: The Federal Government charges a $25 entry fee into the National Monuments. If you choose this option, this fee is not included in our fare. You will pay upon entry. However, after paying your ticket is good at all National Monuments (both Montezuma’s Castle and Tuzigoot Native American Ruins).
- Third Party Tours: Your Verde Valley Railroad tickets, and any other third party tours are not included (such as a Pink Jeep Tour).
- Guides Tip/Gratuity: Todd strongly believes that the tip should be earned, not included in the fare. You’re welcome to leave cash, or have Todd add it to your bill.
THE PICKUP – (7AM Phoenix Area)
You will be picked up at your residence, resort or hotel. The pickup time is flexible, so if you’d like to spend an extra 30 minutes eating breakfast, it’s not a problem. It’s about 2hrs to the Sedona area, getting us there about 9AM.
TRAIN RESERVATIONS
- There are several options to choose from (SEE BELOW).
- Add your desired train tickets during checkout.
- We will contact the railroad on your behalf and make your reservation.
- We will use the credit card provided.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Verde Valley Railroad is NOT INCLUDED in our base tour fare. This will be a separate transaction for Verde Valley Railroad.
Coach Class
1:00 p.m. Most trains depart at this time
Travel in the classic railroad car seating that has characterized train travel from its inception. Vintage Pullman-style upholstered seats are near panoramic windows.
Approximately 74 people ride comfortably in each coach car. Convenient food and beverage centers sell snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine. All cars access a shaded open-air viewing car.
First Class
1:00 p.m. Most trains depart at this time
Travel in style in one of eight first-class cars, all accessing open-air viewing cars. Each car has panoramic windows and living room-style seating with love seats and bistro-style chairs and tables.
Along with spacious accommodations, first-class passage includes Champagne upon departure, full-service cash bars with premium liquor, beverage service at each seat and complimentary Southwestern-style appetizers. First-class service has fewer passengers indoors and out. All cars access a shaded open-air viewing car.

Caboose

Travel in luxury. Featuring six oversized chairs near panoramic windows and access to private outdoor viewing platforms. Two cupola seats afford a bird’s-eye view of the Canyon.
A personal valet. Champagne. Fresh Southwestern-style appetizers. Non-alcoholic beverages and water are complimentary. Premium alcoholic drinks are available throughout the trip.
The exclusive caboose is designed for one party of six or less adults. Passengers must be 12 years or older.

Locomotive Ride-A-Long

Savor the day with a locomotive ride-along, where you’ll be seated between the engineer and conductor inside the cab of the Railroad’s classic 1953 General Motors EMD FP7. Complimentary Verde Canyon Railroad safety gear.
Lunch at the Copper Spike Café before the train departs. Framed photograph of you and the crew. Certificate of completion, numbered and signed by the owner of Verde Canyon Railroad to commemorate the perfect day.
