We’re a 100% Custom Tour Company, so adding this option was a must.
OVERVIEW – To stuff everything in, we had to move up our typical 7AM departure, to 6AM (7:30AM from Sedona, AZ). The train departs the station at 9:30AM (sharp), arriving at the Grand Canyon National Park about 11:30AM.
After grabbing a quick bite and exploring the historic Grand Canyon Village (EST 1896), we’ll headout to the the Remote Overlooks. Start to finish, there’s zero time wasted.
IS IT FOR YOU?
This adventure IS NOT for everyone. It speeds up the pace of the day, increases the cost (train tickets and our fare by $100), and leaves less “unstructured” time throughout the day.
But…
Is it in your nature to maximize every adventure? You enjoy jumping from one incredible activity, to the next. And finally, you know deep down inside that if you skip the train ride, now that you know it’s an option (lol), you’ll regret it; take the plunge. At the end of the day you’ll have plenty of time to relax, and even grab a quick nap on the way home…

THE PICKUP – (6AM Phoenix Area) – (8AM Sedona Area)
Typically our departure times are a bit flexible; however we don’t have any choice to hit the road ontime for this tour. The train leaves precisely at 9:30AM, and we have a 3hr + drive ahead of us; without rest/stretch breaks. Upon arriving at the train station you’ll have plenty of time to check in, grab some food and take some great pictures of the old time train station.
TRAIN RESERVATIONS
- There are several seating options to choose from (SEE BELOW).
- Make note of which “Class” you’re interested in.
- During the checkout process you’ll have the opportunity to add the Grand Canyon Railway ride to your adventure.
- The amounts shown below are one-way and includes all fees.
- We will contact Grand Canyon Railway on your behalf, and make the reservation using the credit card you provide.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: The Grand Canyon Railroad ride is NOT INCLUDED in our ground tour fare. This will be a separate transaction.
YOUR GUIDE – After you depart the train station, your Guide will continue on into the Grand Canyon National Park, meeting you at a predetermined location.
You’ll arrive at the Grand Canyon Train Depot at around 11:30AM.
After touching bases with your Guide; you’ll have several options. Many of our Guests like to explore the historic Grand Canyon Village (EST 1896), while others prefer a quick hike along the Rim of the Grand Canyon on the Rim Trail. The sky’s the limit here, and plans can be changed on a moments notice.
Your Guides will give you some great advice on packing your day full of incredible sites.
At 2PM everyone will load up and start the journey to the Remote Overlooks.
It’s from these overlooks that you’ll get the best view of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River below. Also, the crowds are typically less, allowing for a bit more elbow room. Barriers between you and the Grand Canyon are few, and incredible photos are in every direction.
DEPARTURE –
4PM we leave the last overlook, heading home. While you entered the National Park by train, you’ll exit out the far East entrance to the National Park. With the Navajo Nation and the Painted Desert ahead, it’s the ideal end to an already amazing day.

This is the grandest car in our fleet – a full-length dome up top and a spacious lounge down below with private bar service, exclusive cocktails, and morning and afternoon snacks provided.
